Newsletter:  SEPTEMBER   2009

Welcome to all new members and hope you enjoy YOUR association that wants to preserve and enjoy our heritage.

We had modest successes on our display dates of June 27, Aug. 1 & Sept. 12 in that we acquired new members and renewed memberships under our newly acquired banner. It was good exposure and certainly enhanced our image. We certainly encourage old members to renew so you can be kept informed and participate.

We plan to come out in 2010 with "Porcupine # 9" which will be a type of compilation of various articles that have appeared over several years.

Our lecture series is starting Oct. 4th (2:00 p.m.) at the Library. It will be short presentations by several long-time citizens of life in the town in the 40's and 50's. Admission is free for members and students and $5.00 for non-members. Members are encouraged to attend and bring a friend or two.

Long-term plans are being made for a 2010 Home & Garden Tour and new member Eleanor Dunford (husband Dave) is looking for possible sites. If you have ideas, Eleanor is at 450-226-3055. Older homes are really the ideal.

Got any old photos or post cards of MORIN HEIGHTS? It has been suggested that our Association could sell post cards that would interest residents and visitors alike. Contact Joy Kirkpatrick at 450-226-5988 or joy@kirkpatrick.cc .

A letter has been sent to the town asking if our "Porcupines" could be available for sale at the Town Hall not only to help sales but to raise our profile and have people aware that an effort is being made to preserve our heritage.

See you on Oct. 4th!

Charles Vaillancourt

President
